Videos Created By Fans
Hello all EM readers. I am the "Engineer". I am a geek and truly an engineer (a woman engineer at that)! Yay broken glass ceiling finally. I am not a very creative person, but when something strikes me, it hits me like a box of rocks. The Prologue of "This Same Earth" was one of those box of rocks so I created a video (link below). I have uploaded it to YouTube and I am not sure how long it will stay there due to their quirky copyright laws. I hope you enjoy. There are a few bloopers in the video (hopefully not too obvious) but I kept the camcorder rolling while my daughter did the writing. ~

Gah! I couldn't see it on my mobile phone, but this is amazing! Thank you, Engineer! Would you mind if I posted this over on the FB page?

E - you are welcome to post on your Facebook page. I did not get prior approval for the use of the song but, it hasn't been struck from YouTube yet so the owners must not mind. Glad you like it! Not sure if the Facebook posting should have a spoiler alert - your decision.

Loved it, Engineer! Well done you, song choice was perfect. Put me right back to the first time I read it when I had tears running down my cheecks and E (and Gio)got a minor tongue lashing...mostly because I was reading it at work...

Engineer,
What an emotionally moving video! I especially like the journal quotes you chose. Thank you for taking the time to make this! If it is okay with you, I would love to use this video as an example of possible student output for professional development or in my book clubs.
As for copyright, you could also add credits at the end with a link to where someone may purchase the song...sometimes that's all it takes to make bands happy.
I am excited about this forum, and look forward to "meeting" other EH readers!

Great job, Engineer. 'Say Something' by Great Big World was the perfect song choice, too. I really enjoyed your moving film, and look forward to seeing what you may come up with in the future for this forum. :0)

Re: Videos Created By Fans
Again…stuck in my brain.
I got this scene in my head from when we read the happy ending with Carwyn singing to Matt and Dev's baby, (Ben and Tenzin not knowing what to do), Gio and B listening in. There are no faces shown….so In my head I have this vision:
Music: Beyond Danger by Thomas Newman from the soundtrack of "Scent of a Woman."
You can go to my website highlighted --> http://www.pastdueproductions.com to hear the song and have it playing while you read below at the same time. Be sure to read slowly as if you are reading 1 camera move per section of music.
-pan from floor up two male legs to an infant in arms.
-zoom in to infants sleeping face
-a soft Welch voice talking to the child with whispers (inaudible) as the child is rocked.
-slowly pan darken room to the back of a distant couch
-two shadowed back of heads (one male taller, one female shorter) in the foreground
-focus on television with a playstation car driving game on tv with shadowed heads
-The top of the two heads slowly lean into each other and touch ever so slightly (as if leaning when they turn the game car)
-pan darken room right slowing at burning logs in fireplace
-focus on footstool on right side of fireplace with pair of barefoot male feet
-Slowly Pan right to reveal two bare female feet lightly caressing male ankles
-Zoom out right along legs to mid waist
-Focus on old book with male hands holding book female hands turning page
-Camera angle changes to over the shoulder between male and female and focuses on writing
-Female finger directing to particular sentence.
-Camera slowly pulls back and away to reveal room only lit by fire and television.
-Standing left, tall figure slowly rocking left to right
-Head and shoulder shots (shadowed) of two on couch with television in background
-Sitting together in one chair (no faces shown) male leans and snuggles neck of female.
White lettered words on a black background
Balance
Fade to black.
Hopefully writing this down will be enough nod to the monster of my own that I can sleep tonight.~

AMAZING VIDEO!!
Engineer,
THAT WAS TRULY AMAZING!!!
Thank you for taking the time and creating such a touching treat for us Fans. I had tears running down my face while I was watching the video. Between Beatrice pouring out her frustrations with Gio in the journal year after year, only to be ignored by him, combined with that beautiful song; I was in love.
I only wish you created some more videos (subtle hint)
Sincerely,
Kimberly
