So exciting!
I'm really looking forward to meeting other lovers of the Elemental books and discussing the awesomeness!
I'll start with my favorite character. Now, I bet many go with Gio, but me? My favorite is Carwyn. I love how he can be so funny and loving, yet still be a total bada$$.

Re: So exciting!
My favourite is also Carwyn! His exuberance of life is wonderful & so is his dog!! I often find myself commenting in the streets 'ooo, Carwyn would definitely love that shirt!'

I always loved Beatrice from day one. I thought she was the prettiest one(in my head at least) and definitely the type of woman I'd date lol :p plus how badass she's become over time is really cool as well.

So cool
Hi guys, this is terribly exciting. I've never done a forum before so this is all very new to me but my love of these books make me want to be on one. I love all the elemental mysteries, but especially Beatrice and Gio, they come to life so vividly in my head. I also have a very soft spot for Baojia, although I think he's way too cool for me to know!

Re: So Exciting!
Ooh yeah, ooh yeah! This is beyond exciting! I don't really have a favorite because they all rocked! But generally speaking, the males are dynamic, even the villians. I could go on about the strengths of each one of them, but I won't The females are KICK-ASS and BAD-ASS all at the same time, just how I like to experience female charachters especially in romance novels. I just love how all the characters were well balanced and not sterotyped. Elizabeth is trully gifted and very aware of the human condition and has translated the complexity of that so well through these mesmerizing characters. Well done!

Favourite Character
This is great - so my favourite hands down is Baojia. He typifies everything I love in a man - loyalty, strength, modesty and hot as Hades. I was caught by him almost as soon as he started appearing in the series and Blood and Sand was a fabulous story and I was pleased that the character developed as I had pictured him. Sometimes I find that when an initially peripheral character comes to the fore, if they have been around in the story arc for a while then you start to relate to them. It's awful when they take an about turn or have a real shift in character as their story develops.

yes!
The way Elizabeth writes about B and Gio, it is just amazing. I feel the passion in my soul. I remember a part when they were in the kitchen and he grabbed her (before they got together) I literally lost my breath. Simply amazing!

I find this happens rather a lot whenever I'm reading any of Elizabeth's stories. I quite often have to remind myself to breathe!amandabaker wrote:I literally lost my breath.

Re: So exciting!
I'd love some stories on Carwyn's daughters. I loved Waterlocked with Terry and Gemma, but I'd love to read a novel about Deirdre and Ioan, and finding unexpected love with Gavin while still grieving for Ioan. I'm very interested in reading how she's going to fight that tooth and nail, especially after they exchanged blood while saving Gio. Carwyn's twin sons would be another great novels also!

Elementally wonderful with a dash of science, books, love, hatred, and martial arts.
One of the few paranormal novels where the key players epitomize "normal people" (albeit with lots of para ) Who react in normal ways; we never have to scratch our heads and say "what the hell was so and so thinking" It's that quality which makes them so easy to understand without a whole dissertation of why one of the characters act the way they do 'blah, blah, blah'. And why we as readers are able to grasp their emotions from the first sentence to the last. My favorite character, Beatrice, hands down. Kick-ass librarian with a love of books and martial arts. What's not to love?

Whenever I decide to use those really florally/herbal body washes that if a vampire walked past me he might smell me the way Gio would smell Beatrice... And it makes me smile.

Tenzin and Ben
Hi everybody!
I LOVE this series, f-ing awesome.
My favorite characters are hands down Tenzin and Ben. Tenzin is so funny, and so mysterious and unattainable somehow. She is probably one of the most exciting and interesting characters I've ever read in any genre (and I've read a lot). She's complex to say the least. Peeping Tim:)
And Ben just stole my heart when he walked onto the stage in 'This Same Earth'. He grows up so much during the last three books, and the way he develops, what with his rigid training program, I believe he is going to be a force to be reckoned with later on when we'll see him again, in his and Tenzin's series. GAWD but I can't wait!
I also really like Des and Matt. And I know that all things point to them staying human, which does mirror mortal and immortal love nicely, but I can't help but hope that something will happen which will FORCE Elizabeth into changing them. I almost feel cruel writing this, but I really want them to live forever in harmony with B and Gio. So, yeah.. Let something dramatic and horrible happen so that they are changed into awesome vamps please! And then their daughter will of course choose to become a vamp as well when she grows up. Wishful thinking on my part I should think, but I can't help it.
The last character I'm REALLY intrigued by,(that I'll mention in this post) is Tenzin's daddy. Zhang or is it Jun? I have a feeling he is a man man of many names and qualities. I've just read 'The Bronze Blade', and though he didn't feature heavily, his presence, or lack thereof, spoke volumes of who he was at that time, but the epilogue also told of his own evolution and development. I have been very keen on him as a character since 'The Force of Wind', and his relationship with Tenzin and the way those two leap off the page together tells of unspoken things and emotions. I really hope he'll feature in Tenzin and Ben's series. And not to be killed, please I beg you writer-momma!
So yeah those are my two cents, for now:) More like a saga, but whatever, I LOVE these books SO much. I've read them too many time already and I know I'll read them again and again in the future.

Re: So exciting!
Hi all,
I too love Carwyn for diverse reasons, after all he's British and a redhead and hot as the hinges of Hell. He's loyal and loving, a father figure in many ways also not afraid to laugh at himself or say what needs to be said. He's the rock that is constant and steadfast throughout.
These books are my return to favourites, dear dog eared friends complete with tea stains and grease spots. I buy books to enjoy and love to their final falling apart, elastic banded days and these will be taped up and reread to destruction. Then I'll buy them again!
